One type of rug that has recently seen a surge in popularity is plush area rugs. These rugs are made from fibers rather than yarn, making them soft and extremely durable. They feel like you're walking on air!

Plush oriental rugs are tick area rugs, whose thickness allows them to have a texture that is plusher, or squishy, in other words. The term "plush" is used in association with area rugs because these rugs have a slightly thicker pile than other area rugs, and are more durable than shag areas. The thickness of the pile varies from one rug to another, but generally, there are three classes of plush rugs: plush 100% wool area rug, plush 69% wool and 33% nylon, and plush 50% wool and 50% nylon.

There are a variety of different types of plush wool rugs. The top layer might be called India or wool-like. Underneath is the pile, which is soft to touch and feel. These thick rugs with soft tops and deep piles can have a higher cost than usual, this is why these types of rugs are usually designed for special rooms such as bedrooms or family rooms.

The same care that was put into making these rugs should be used when caring for them as well. These can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner as well as an upright beater brush attachment according to specific instructions on the tag.
